treeThe Village Limoges community health team has organised a series of snowshoe hikes for local residents 50 and over. The snowshoe hikes are every Thursday from Jan. 18 to Mar. 22 during the 2017-18 winter season.

The 60-minute-plus excursions go from 1pm to 2:30pm in Larose Forest. Local residents are asked to meet at the P4 parking. There will be a 10 minute warm up before the hike as well as a 10 minute cool down upon return.

The hikes are offered by the Centre de santé communautaire de l’Estrie at no cost. For more information, residents can call the Centre at 613.557.2210 at extension 224 or visit cscestrie.on.ca.

In our region, Larose Forest is a 27,000-acre forest that was re-initiated in 1928 by Mr. Ferdinand Larose. It is noted as the second-largest planted forest in southern Ontario. The forest is managed by the United Counties of Prescott and Russell.
