Champion Lacasse visits St-Viateur in Limoges

LimogesGeneviève Lacasse, an Olympic champion and Clarkson Cup winner, made a special visit to École élémentaire catholique Saint-Viateur in Village Limoges on Friday, March 9. Ms. Lacasse of Kingston, whose family has made their home in Limoges, recently won a silver medal at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Games in Korea Republic.

“L’ÉÉC Saint-Viateur would like to thank Geneviève Lacasse for her grand generosity during our Proudly Canadian celebration,” wrote the school after the visit. “Thank you to our members as well as Mrs. Nathalie Webber for coordinating this beautiful day.”

“Thank you, thank you, thank you Geneviève Lacasse for taking the time to meet the students at Saint-Viateur,” wrote Nathalie Webber. “One by one, the students had the chance to congratulate you and even had the chance to hold a real Olympic medal. Thank you for taking the time to speak to the students. You have definitely inspired several of them!”

Lacasse has played her club hockey with Boston Blades, winning the Clarkson Cup in 2013 and 2015, and Calgary Inferno, reaching the playoff final in 2017. This past season, she spent the full season with the Canadian national program in preparation for the Olympic Games. Along with her Olympic silver medal in 2018, she won Olympic gold four years ago at Sochi 2014.
