Fifty km/h zone extended on Limoges Road

LimogesThe 50 km/h zone on Limoges Road in Village Limoges has been extended by approximately 100 metres. The southbound sign was moved back to ensure vehicles slow down earlier in advance of reaching the heart of the village.

Earlier this summer 2017, an electronic speed zone was positioned just before the 50/h sign and just before Savage Road. Rather than move the electronic sign, The Nation Municipality moved the permanent 50km/h zone back to extend the slower speed zone.

The electronic sign flashes each driver’s speed as they enter the 50km/h zone, encouraging drivers to respect the posted speed limit on Limoges Road.

Speeding remains a problem in Village Limoges, especially when drivers are asked to change speeds from one speed zone to another. The local community is doing its best to address the problem. In November 2016, the 50km/h zone was extended on Indian Creek Road in North Limoges. In July 2017, The Nation Municipality installed traffic-calming collapsible medians on Des Pins Road.
