LimogesThe Limoges Recreation Committee have hosted their first of four monthly Bingo Nights in the Village of Limoges. The 2017 Bingo Nights are organised on the last Friday night of each month, always immediately following the community supper.

Profits from the May 26 Bingo Night will be donated to the Limoges Health Hub Committee’s funding campaign for the not-for-profit clinic in Limoges. Profits from the next three Bingo Nights will go towards recreation projects in the community.

There were approximately 120 people in attendance for the Bingo Night, many of whom also attended the community Bean Supper. There were several games and cash prizes during the two and a half hours of bingo. The biggest amount of $500 happened to be split evenly between three winners on the last game of the night. Volunteers also sold 50/50 tickets while the youngest volunteers sold drinks and snacks in the aisles so that bingo players wouldn’t miss a beat from the popular bingo caller.

Bingo players also signed a letter of support for the proposed Nation Sportsplex and community centre project, a landmark complex that will promote social and economic development, inspire “living locally” culture and heritage in a dynamic municipality, and support much-needed health and wellness programs for community hubs like Village Limoges, neighbouring St-Albert, and other communities in the larger national capital region.

Upcoming Bingo Nights are June 30, July 28, and August 25. Bingo players are always welcome while potential volunteers are encouraged to contact the Limoges Recreation Committee. Local residents are also encouraged to join the Limoges Loves Play Facebook group to share “information and ideas on special recreation projects in Limoges.”

Limoges Recreation Committee
The Limoges Recreation Committee is a dynamic team of volunteers working to improve recreation in the community through projects, policies, plans, programs, budgets, and other issues related to local facilities and activities. The committee meets once a month and both supports and coordinates local projects including fundraisers. The committee also engages and connects the local community on their needs and expectations as it relates to recreation in the Village of Limoges.
