LimogesThe Limoges Health Hub has officially opened in the Village of Limoges. While the stores have opened and the building has quickly come together in recent weeks, the community welcomed the Health Hub through a Grand Opening event on Friday afternoon.

“It is quite incredible what you have done here,” said John Fraser, MPP, Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. “You have really come together as a community and made sure you are taking care of each other.”

The event featured several guest speakers, led by emcee and President of the Limoges Health Hub Volunteer Committee, Shirley Racine.

“it has been a long time in the planning and I am very pleased to see this dream become a reality,” said Racine. “I am confident that the residents of Limoges and our neighbouring communities will embrace these services.”

The Limoges Health Hub, owned by Saint Joseph Developments, features 15,000 square feet, has three floors, and cost approximately $5.5m. The project has already created 51 new jobs through tenants Limoges Dental Centre, Guardian Pharmacy, le Centre de santé communautaire de l’Estrie, Prescott and Russell Community Services, and the Nation Health Centre.

“This Health Hub has created the foundation for further economic development in our outstanding community which will continue to prosper with the leadership of many committed volunteers and community groups,” said François St-Amour, Mayor of The Nation Municipality.

As noted by Racine and her team, the Limoges Health Hub “offers patients and clients a one-stop shop and an integrated approach to health solutions allowing professionals to consult each other and develop integrated solutions.”

“I want to thank the doctors, the nurse practitioners, the dentists, and all the health practitioners who said yes to Limoges,” said Francis Drouin, Liberal MP for Glengarry-Prescott-Russell. “As we know, a strong Limoges is a healthy Limoges and because this is a Health Hub, it will also be a healthier Limoges.”
