Village Limoges missing from Local Food Guide

Forêt LaroseThe Village of Limoges is notably missing from the Local Food Map published for Prescott & Russell, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry. The map covers a large area in eastern Ontario, including villages in The Nation Municipality and Russell Township.

From 94 farms, farmers’ markets, businesses supporting local food, breweries, and wineries, none of them are located in the Village of Limoges.

The closest is business no.91 on the list, the Brasserie Tuque de Broue. Their “91” sticker is drawn close to Limoges, but the business is located in a neighbouring town. According to the brewery, the president Nicolas Malboeuf does live in Limoges, so that is reason enough to support (and drink) his Tuque Dorée, Barbe Blanche, La Cavalerie d’Houblons, Gougounes Rousses, or Portage Porter.

Unfortunately, neither restaurant/pub or retail outlet in Village Limoges carries any of the Tuque de Broue brands. Fortunately, the local brewery does deliveries to Village Limoges twice a week.

As for other ‘local’ treats, cheese curds from the neighbouring Fromagerie St-Albert in The Nation Municipality are sold locally in Village Limoges.
