LimogesThe United Counties of Prescott and Russell have added trail number signs to the popular activity trails in Larose Forest. The new signs help provide direction throughout the network of activity trails that have become popular both cyclists and runners.

While many of the Larose Forest trails have been in place for years, a network of new activity trails were added starting last year, notably to the delight of local and visiting cyclists and runners. On the west side of Larose Forest, for instance, a network of nine trails numbered 1-9 offer 9.5km of activity. Another network of six trails numbered 10-15 offer 6.9km of activity.

Two different types of numbered signs have been added to strategic locations on the trails. The diamond signs (orange contour) feature intersection numbers while the circular signs (green contour) feature trail numbers.

In our region, Larose Forest is a 27,000-acre forest that was re-initiated in 1928 by Mr. Ferdinand Larose. It is noted as the second-largest planted forest in southern Ontario. The forest is managed by the United Counties of Prescott and Russell.
