LimogesThe City of Ottawa has closed Russland Road for one week in order to replace a culvert and improve “roadways and maintain surface drainage” in the community. The 2017 road closure runs Dec. 4-8.

According to a letter sent to border residents in Ottawa and Village Limoges in November, “the culvert will be replaced using a full road closure with a detour to the north via Dunning Road, Russell Road, and Saumure Road.” The notice said that the work would run Dec. 4 to Dec. 15, although local signs have since posted that the work runs only five days from Dec. 4-8.

The culvert replacement has been contracted to Goldie Mohr, Ltd. of Richmond, Ontario (just west of Manotick). The actual work will be done on Russland Road just “0.14 km east of Garlandside Road.”

Residents in Limoges, especially those in North Limoges, regularly use Russland Road to travel west towards the highway for access to downtown Ottawa. For the week of Dec. 4-8, those residents will be asked to find an alternate route.
