LimogesThe Nation Municipality roadwork in Limoges, Ontario was completed this weekend, with a new end to Main Street and a new sidewalk on Des Pins. The work was completed in the first week of September 2014.

While Main Street remains open, it no longer connects with Limoges Road, which in essence has become the small town’s main street with small businesses and restaurants. The old five-way intersection is now a four-way intersection, accompanied by new stop signs on Limoges Road for traffic flowing north and south.

The five-way intersection was deemed not safe, with westward traffic from Des Pins and Main streets meeting Limoges Road at the same point. As such, the diagonal end to Main Street was closed, with a new sidewalk closing the street traffic. Drivers must now travel to the west end of Main Street via Mabel Street.

As for the new sidewalk on Des Pins, it travels from Limoges Road east to Mabel Street on the north side of Des Pins.
