LimogesThe Nation Municipality officially inaugurated their new baseball diamond at Parc Rodolphe-Latreille in Village Limoges on Saturday, June 23. The official ribbon-cutting event took place during the 2018 Limoges Community Day featuring councilor Francis Brière and local volunteers.

The new baseball diamond was part of the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program, “a $300-million national program which is being delivered by regional development agencies across the country.”

As noted by The Nation Municipality, the funding was used to “install lights, build covered dugouts and replace the infield with sand and stone dust. The project was an initiative from the Limoges 3 Pitch Baseball League which currently has around 170 youth registered in their baseball and T-ball programs.”

In all, The Nation Municipality received a $35,700 contribution from the Federal Agency for Economic Development for South Ontario (FedDev Ontario).

Said The Nation Muncipality Mayor François St-Amour, “this is a great example of what can be accomplished when a community comes together to improve the recreation facilities in their neighborhood. Thanks to all the individuals who worked and contributed to this project and for the much appreciated support from FedDev Ontario.”
