LimogesThe Nation Municipality has unveiled their new Municipal Hazardous and Special Waste Depot in Village Limoges. The new depot is open every Saturday from May through October.

“We are hoping that this new site will help keep our environment clean and that The Nation residents will take advantage of this depot to dispose of their household hazardous waste several times during the year,” said Mayor François St-Amour.

The Nation Municipality officially opened the depot through an Open House event on June 28, 2018. The special event featured the Mayor along with councilors Francis Brière and Marc Laflèche, staff Guy Malboeuf, Guylain Laflèche, and Daniel R. Desforges.

According to The Nation Municipality, the new building at 2090 Calypso Road will “cut costs and improve services offered to residents.” The new building cost $40,000 to build and should save the municipality around $8,000 per year, not to mention the “indirect salaries and overtime hours that were involved with the one-day household waste pick-up.”

Residents of The Nation Municipality can dispose of their “hazardous and special waste” every Saturday between 8am and 12 noon. Previously, this service was only offered biennially. A full list of acceptable items can be found at nationmun.ca.
